Zaichko V. Optimization of loading of the vessels with general cargoes

Dissertation work is dedicated to the problem of provision of the nautical safety of the general cargo vessels, in the view of the loading optimization. The method of optimal loading of the general cargoes includes a procedure of formation of the list of holds, which are planned to be loaded with cargo lots. The requirements on compatibility of the freight lots placed in one freight compartment were formalized, as well as the sequential order of loading based on the rotation of discharging ports. The requirements of seaworthiness were transformed into limitations of the optimization task, forming the set of analytical equations. Dependencies of the optimization criterion against the loading strategy were analyzed, analytical form of the relation were gained. Approach to the composition of the set of possible loads was proposed, allowing the procedure of loading the vessel with the general cargo to be formulated. For the purposes of verification of the theoretical results, gained with the mentioned procedure, the description of the imitational software model, that utilizes the concepts, developed in the dissertation, was provided. The results of optimization of loading for a number of initial conditions, based on the imitational modeling, showing the effectiveness and correctness of proposed method are provided.
