Thesis is dedicated to the research of main reasons and preconditions of the Orthodox movement revival in Zakarpattya at the beginning of the 20th century: evolution of state and church relationships connected with the recognition of human rights on religions matters. On the basis of archival, published documents, monographic and periodical material a complicated process of arising and functioning of Orthodox Church and monastic communities has been studied; their social and economic, cultural and political activities have been researched. Much attention is paid to the activities of Orthodox bishops and other figures of the Orthodox movement, struggling for the consolidation of the church structure. The role of Orthodox clergy in social and political activities has been also considered. In the given thesis the influence of Hungarian and Czech authorities on the Orthodox movement revival among Ukrainians of Zakarpattya has been defined
