Ovechkin D. Complex treatment of purulent surgical infection of bones and joints in children (clinical and experimental research).

The dissertation has initiated into the questions of optimal diagnostics and treatment of infection of bones and joints in children. We have executed an analysis of results of investigations of clinical and epidemiologic peculiarities of foregoing infection in children of Sumy Region. We have studied the ultrasonic changes of bones and joints on different stages of infection development. We have experimentally investigated an antibacterial and fungicidal effect of antiseptic solutions on the most com-mon offending microorganism of bones and joints infection in children. We have studied the overall and local toxicity of antibacterial agents on bones and cartilages of young white rats. We have substantiated the application of sodium hypochlorite for purulent infection irrigation and to investigate clinical effect during intraosseous extraosseous and intraarticular using of this solution. The subjective estimate of participating indices of quality of life of convalescents was studied. We have perfected the means of irrigation of purulent infection of bones and joints in children and the instrumentation for pus discharge. We have achieved the decrease a term of hospitalization (р<0,05) and the decrease a level of chronic form of these diseases in 1,4 times; the level of disablement was decreased in 2,3 times.
