Koshetar U. The Role of the Byzantine-rite Catholic Church of Ukraine in the Forming of Galician Conservatism 1900-1939.

The object of research is a ukrainian conservatism is in the context of religious-ideological and political processes in Galicia (1900-1939). The aim of research: analysis of influencing of the Byzantine-rite Catholic Church of Ukraine (BCCU) is on the process of forming of the organized conservatism in Galicia in 1900-1939, as the social and political and spiritual phenomenon, and also role of the church in creation of political structures of conservative direction. The subjec of research: role of the BCCU as an ideological and public institute in Ukrainian national liberation motion and development of conservative tradition of Galician society. The methods of research: comparative-historical, systems analysis, retrospective-genetic analysis, germenevtic. The results of research and novelty: it is determined that the BCCU played the leading role in forming social and political structures of conservative orientation in Galicia in 1900-1939. That noticeably marked their policy principles, course and forms of work. Based on historical materials it was first showed that Christian conception of the world as an ideological component of conservatism facilitated the conservation of culture in Galician society and under conditions of not having their own state it kept historical and cultural traditions of Galician society. The sphere of usage: subsequent development of subject of research, writing of summarizing labours, during the reading of courses of history of Ukraine, history of church and religion in Ukraine, Ukrainian national liberation motion; in public policy.
