Mateleshko J. The Political-Administrative Structure of the Kievan Rus’ from the 9 th – to the beginning of the 12 th century

The complete analysis of the political-administrative structure of the Kievan Rus’ is presented in this dissertation focusing on a certain period of time from the 9th to the beginning of the 12th century. It contains a detailed investigation of the territorial units also demonstrated as well as the structure of classification on which the units are includet into the political-administrative system of the state. Counting on the amount of sources helps to define the place of each "grad" in the hierarchy of the old rusian cities and a degree of display of its activity in a certain interval of time. On the basis of the subodination which is peculiar to the majority of the Rus’ "grads" it can be declared that the volosts were functioning as political formations which were filled up with real internal contents. A complete structural and functional model is created about the bodies of the political-administrational management in the Kievan Rus’. Within its limits the bodies of political-administrational direction are precisely separated from such persons who could only potentially get administrative functions.
