Essay

In this dissertation for the first time in historiography takes place a systematic analysis which analyzes the activities of representatives of the personnel of Kyiv University during the intensification of Stalin totalitarian regime. The work is based on thorough all-round analysis of wide range of sources on history of Kyiv State University, documents and materials of workers and scientists of University higher school (1933-41). The process of formation of Kyiv State University in 1933-41 was taking place during the formation of soviet higher school system, in accordance to which a University was meant to be seen not as an autonomic centre for the development of science and culture but in the terminology of 1930th as a "smithy of staff" and a "part of ideological front". In the end of 1930th Kyiv University was turned into typical soviet higher educational institution with uniform system of teaching, obedient professorate and a student body loyal to the cause of socialistic structuring.
