Bojko Y. The publishing, philanthropically and public political activity of Evgen Chykalenko (1980 - 1929).

The dissertation is devoted to complex investigation of life, public-political and cultural-educational activity of Evgen Harlampijovych Chykalenko. On the base of great resources the group of factors were determined. There factors greatly influenced on shaping of his world outlook and played a great role in forming of his public position. His activity in Ukrainian communities and revolutionary groups, Ukrainian democratic party and Association of Ukrainian Postupovci was examined in details. The political views of Chykalenko were revealed and their transformation was analyzed in this work. The progressive significance of his taking part in democratic editions: "Kyiv Starovyna", "Literature-scientific Messenger "Rada" and etc. for solving Ukrainian question was proved in this work. The main stakes of his publishing, publicist and charitable activity were revised. Chykalenko's contribution to the integration of Ukrainian public movement into world movement shown, and the significance of his scientific activity was revealed. Chykalenko's work in emigrational scientific institutions was also investigated in this dissertation. This work lets estimate Chykalenko's contribution to development of the social-political life of Ukraine from the end of XIX to the beginning of XX century.
