Tokar N. The scientific and social-political activity of V. Domanuzkiy in the context of social-political life in Ukraine at the end of XIX – at the beginning of XX centuries.

Thesis is dealt with the complex research of life and activity of V. M. Domanuzkiy. Analyzing the great amount of literature the main periods of his biography were resumed and more specific information obtained; defined the process of forming his personal and scientific views, his social positions and political preferences. An important place in the thesis takes Domanuzkiy’s cooperative activity and his role in the establishment and development of cooperative deal in Ukraine. In the research is analyzed the work of V. Domanuzkiy in the periodicals at the end of XIX – the beginning of XX centuries, such as “Kievskaya starina”, “Literal-scientific bulletin”, “Notes of Scientific T. Schevchenko’s community” and his relations with outstanding scientists and public figures: S. Efremov, V. Naymenko, E. Chekalenko. Special attention is concentrated on the analysis of his contribution to the development of the humanities – history, ethnography, study of literature and bibliography. The V. Domanuzkiy’s works inthe sphere of Schevchenko’s study are also studied.
