The object of research is the academic staff of the universities in Naddnipryanska Ukraine of the second half of the ХІХ th - beginning of the ХХ th century.The aim of research is a complex to study of socio-cultural peculiarities (specific features) of the academic staff of Naddnipryanska Ukraine of the second half of the ХІХ th - beginning of the ХХ th century. The subjec of research: a social status, research and public work of the academic staff universities of Kyiv, Kharkiv, Novorosiysk of the second half of the ХІХ th - beginning of the ХХ th century. The methods of research: logical, problem-chronological, comparative-history, comparative-legal, formal-quantitative method of mathematical statistics. The results of research and novelty: the changes of quantitative and quantitative structure of the academic staff of Naddnipryanska Ukraine universities have been investigated. The pedagogical, methodical and research work of the academic staff universities of Naddnipryanska Ukraine has been described. The results of Kyiv, Kharkiv, Novorosiysk academic staff participation in modernization of different spheres of society of the second half of the ХІХ th - beginning of the ХХ th century have been determined. The sphere of usage: subsequent development of subject of research, writing of summarizing labours, train aids, during reading of courses of history of Ukraine.
