Essay

The dissertation deals with a study of the development, dynamics of the form-building of the lateral nasal walls during the prenatal period of human ontogenesis. The forming and changing of the syntopy of the constituent parts of the nasal lateral walls, the periods of their intensive and slowed down growth, critical periods, variants and possible developmental defects have been traced by means of adequate morphological methods. It has been found out that at the end of the embryonal period of human development there occurs a merging of the oral cavity with the nasal one. The nasal passages and turbinates are formed at the beginning of the prefetal period of ontogenesis owing to the outpoucting of the epithelium of the nasal lateral walls into the adjacent mesenchyma. At the end of the fifth – the beginning of the sixth month the turbinates are represented by bone structures. The inferior nasal meatus remains the least evident one. The anlarge of the maxillary sinuses takes place in prefetuses, measuring 32,0 – 44,0 mm, sphenoidal sinuses – in prefetuses measuring 46,0 – 56,0 mm, ethmoidal and frontal sinuses – in fetuses, measuring 150,0 – 180,0 mm of the parietoococcygeal length.
