Essay

The thesis investigates distinctive psychological features of entrepreneurs' (owners of production companies) motivation. The work contains a theoretical substantiation, methods and empirical findings. The author has revealed the contents and built a model of entrepreneurship motivation. The leading motives of business activity have been found to be those of business success, freedom and independance, initiative and activity. The four basic types of entrepreneurship motivation have been shown to be: genuine entrepreners, profit-oriented entrepreneurs, passive entrepreneurs, and involuntary entrepreneurs. The author has investigated changes in motivation in the process of business development. Entrepreneurship motivation has been found to correlate with entrepreners' efficiency. Genuine entrepreneurs' motivation has been found to best correspondent tasks and objectives of business activity promoting entrepreneurs' performance. The author has investigated effects of organizational and socio-demographic factors on entrepreneurs' motivation, determined psychological prerequisites of development of entrepreneurship motivation as well as worked out a special motivation developing training course.
