The socio-geographical principles of the investigation of geopolitical factor effect on the regional development activity are defined in the scientific research. The research methods of region taking into account of geopolitical factor effect are worked out. The principal features of Metropolitan economic region activity are analyzed in the view of state geoeconomic potential forming. The basic tendencies of the regional socio-economic development improvement are defined taking into account geopolitical factor.
