The dissertation represents a complex contrastive and typological analysis of the semantic-cognitive structure of the concept of CLEAN in English and Ukrainian, being carried out within nominative and idiographic aspects. In the highlight of Contrastive Ethnolinguistic Studies and Theory of Conceptual Analysis, is there performed and revealed a structure-semantic reconstruction of the concept of CLEAN, as well as the principles of its semantic-conceptual organization in the English and Ukrainian language pictures of the world. The set of the conceptual (oppositive, transgressive) and semantic ('clean - fresh'/'чистий - свіжий') marks is determined, due to the concept structure constituents (conceptual proper, imagery-associative and value), the semantic fields (their nucleus and periphery zones) of the concept of CLEAN in the contrasted languages are singled out and compared, the main ideographic conceptual domains (physically clean, morally pure) are revealed, the analyzed concept being axiologicallymarked and its associative linkage, due to the scope of its conceptual correlates are determined (FAMILY RELATIONS, LABOUR, FEELINGS).
