Aladko D. The typology of the kitchenware nomination models in the English and Ukrainian languages

The thesis suggests a complex approach to the contrastive analysis of the kitchenware names in the English and Ukrainian languages from their semantic and motivation modeling perspective; the paper introduces the methodology for the contrastive analysis of the kitchenware names in the English and Ukrainian languages. The research defines the frame structure and motivational background of the kitchenware names; provides their semantic and ideographic modeling; shows cultural and symbolic colouring of the kitchenware names. The thesis compares the results of cultural and semiotic reconstruction of the kitchenware names, which is based on their belonging to different conceptual spheres and semantic oppositions in the English and Ukrainian languages.
