Chaika O. Wedding rites nominations in the Ukrainian, English and Portuguese languages: semantics, structure, functioning.

This thesis focuses on the new approach to the comparative study of wedding rites nominations in the three distant related languages - Ukrainian, English and Portuguese. In the paper, theoretic and methodological basics for study of language rites signs in ethnolinguistics and linguistic culturology have been generalized, methods of comparative analysis of wedding rites nominations in the contrastive languages have been implemented, wedding rites nominations have been classified into the thematic and semantic groups, wedding rites nominations have been analyzed under ethnolinguistic concepts and semantic oppositions, national and cultural peculiarities of wedding rites nominations have been identified in the contrastive languages as well as types of interlinguistic correspondences and equivalents to wedding rites nominations have been established on the basis of word formation and their cultural and national semantics.
