The dissertation is devoted to the problem of the public-political movement of the scientific intelligentsia for the Ukrainisation of the educational institutions and the state establishments at the end of the XIXth century till 1920. In this research activity of the scientific intelligentsia in the introduction of the Ukrainian language into the education and office-work in 1897-1920 was investigated and analyzed, the socially-psychological portrait of the scientists of the XIXth century till 1920is made The author established the role and place of intellectuals as especial socially-professional group in liberally-educational activity, value of their scientific and pedagogical work as important factor of popularization of the Ukrainian language. The research of the contribution to the decision of a problem of creation of national system of educational institutions in 1917-1920 and the Ukrainisation of office-work was given. Were enlightened the most important forms and methods, positions and conclusions of the Ukrainisation activity.
