Essay

The problems of ethnic and political development of the Rusins' Association of Zakarpattya and the formation of the ethnic identity of the Rusins on this base are investigated in this Ph.D. thesis. The formation of ethnic identity of the Rusins of Zakarpattya and its reflection in the regional historical mind has been investigated on the basis of the analysis of the archival documents and materials, literary heritage of cultural figures of Zakarpattya of the second half of XVIII — XIX cent, political programmes of the period of revolution 1848-1849 and postrevolutionary period, political discussions in the Rusins' environment of Zakarpattya of the second half of the XIX cent.
