Essay

Thesis deals with advanced research and a new solution of scientific task which consists in groinding methods of selection for correlating characters, perfection of breeding process with the aim of development of initial material of shallot and its varieties for production green tips for a long period. For the first time under conditions of Zacarpattia, there are opened possibilities for production of green tips for a long period on the basis of development of high-producing varieties with preservation capacity. On the basis of detailed studies on systematics and taxonomy of bulb onion, the scheme of shallot origin was unified. A correlation matrix of principal guantitative characters was worked ont and on its basis selections for traits correlative nsith productivity were optimized. There weredetected characters which were characterized with significant variability with a possible manifestation of new characters for selection of clones. Inheritance of principal juantitative characters was studied and coefficients of variation of the character of hill formation and bulb shape depending on environment factors were determined. The produced derivative material and the best forms were evaluated for agronomic characteristics a competitive morsery. The best variety clone Ocsamit with 9 bulbs per hill, hill diameter of 6,5cm, bulb diameter of 2,5cm, average bulb mass of 9,6g and hill mass of 78,9g isprepared to be transmitted to state examination. The clones AB-15, AB-13, KY-11 and KY-13 proved perspective. They were characterized with high indexas of productivity and will be studied further with the aim of finding the best ones for introduction into production. Heterosis ability was found in the clone-derivative of AB 13 with 17 bulbs per hill and hill mass of 153g and bulb mass of 9g. The best characters of productivity were formed in a derivative of AB C clone from seeds. A bush with 18 bulbs had the mass of 15g with average bulb mass of 8,7g. The best forms for forcing green tips were clones derivatives:AB (12,9 kg/m2), KY (12,3kg/m2), IY (13kg/m2). To ensure high number of bulbs per hill of shallot, the importance of bulb size of the clones studied (AB With buld diameter of 4-5cm, KY with 2-3cm, IY with more than 5cm, KHCY with 2-3cm was proved.).
