Smutok L. Administrative, economic and ethnic-confessional development of New Sambir in XV - XVIII centuries.

The thesis is devoted to the history of New Sambir in XV - XVIII centuries. The work deals with the forming of city administration system namely it reveals duties and authorities of sity counsils. It analyses the personnel composition of city officials and points out criteria promoting to form the city counsil. The work reveals the system of sity legislation and its place in legal system of Polish State. The administrative and legal relations between the city and the suburb are analyzed and the role of juridics in the life of New Sambor in showed. On the ground of new sources the ethnic and confessional composition of New Sambir population is revealed. The thesis shows the economic condition and the specific character of settlement of Rome-Catholic (Polish), Orthodox, then Greek-Catholic (Russian) communirie and other ethnic and confessional groups. On the ground of additional historic testimonies it corrects the number of city population for the XV - XVIII century and analyzes the state of sity economics: specific character of its organization and changes within the mentioned period.
