Kilochytska T. Formation and development of asymptotic theory of non-linear fluctuations (non-linear mechanics) in Ukraine (the 30-60, XX c.)

Dissertation deals with the investigation of formation and development of asymptotic theory of non-linear fluctuations (non-linear mechanics) in Ukraine (the 30-60, XX c.). A short history of fluctuation science in the world context has been investigated and the devision of this history into periods has been worked up; the formation of the general theory of non-linear fluctuations in the L.I.Mandelshtam school has been revealed; the preconditions of formation by the Ukrainian scientists M.M.Krylov and M.M.Bogolubov of a new branch of non-linear fluctuations theory - asymptotical theory of non-linear fluctuations or non-linear mechanics in the 30-th of the XX c. has been covered by the author and the process of its elaboration has also been covered in details; M.M.Bogolubov's results of his further development of non-linear mechanics have also been given coverage in the paper; the contribution to the science of M.M.Bogolubov's pupil Yu.O.Mytropolskiy (academician of NAS of Ukraine), the characteristic features of the latter as a scientific leader are also presented; also investigated is the process of formation of his Academic School in the field of non-linear mechanics in the 50-th of XX c.; the principal features and the contribution of this this school to the theory of non-linear fluctuations and to science at large have also been stressed out in the dissertation.
