Essay

The work was devoted to study of miniature-like mutant alleles in different levels of investigation. The detailed characterization of mutant phenotypes was carried out by use light and transmission electron microscopy, and maternal effect of miniature-like gene was shown. Structure of the gene in Drosophila virilis was predicted and verified, the molecular nature of mutants was determined with molecular biology methods.
