Essay

The dissertation deals with investigated the synaptic transmission in smooth muscles of the circular layer of different regions of human gut and distal region of guinea-pig's colon. The parameters of the inhibitory junction potentials (IJP) in these smooth muscles were determined by means of the sucrose-gap method. Modulation of the synaptic transmission in human and guinea-pig gut smooth muscles by pyridoxal-5-phosphate and haloperidol was investigated. Pyridoxal-5-phosphate suppresses IJP of the smooth muscles of the gut more effectively than pyridoxal. Antituberculosis drug isoniazid can reduce inhibitory action of pyridoxal-5-phosphate to synaptic transmission. It was demonstrated that haloperidol (which is know as neuroleptic) and clotrimazole (which is know as antimicotic) are able to decrease amplitude and change kinetic parameters of IJP in smooth muscles of the gut.
