The dissertation is commemorated to the investigation of the history of studying the folk culture of the Ukrainians in Transcarpathia that appeared in the periodical literature of the region in the second half of the XlXth – first half of the XXth century. The state and character of the sources is analyzed, the degree of the problem’s investigation in the foreign and domestic historiography is ascertained as well. The directions and the level of the ethnographic studies, thethematic, the circle of investigators during the different historic periods of Transcarpathia, the Austro-Hungarian period (1867–1918), the Czech period (1919–1939), the Hortist’ Hungary (1939–1944), is fixed.
