Essay

The object of the dissertation is the phenomenon of responsibility. The aim is to identify the particular nature of responsibility in contemporary social practices. The methods: A comparative and critical analysis for the ultimate purpose of clarification. The practical application: To provide a broader perspective on the theoretical and imperative basis for an integrated analysis of the phenomenon of responsibility. The results of this research could be used in the development and substantiation of the socio-philosophical concept of responsibility. In practice, this PhD thesis will provide invaluable material for the preparation of university lectures in social philosophy, ethics and sociology. The purpose of the thesis is to provide a philosophical basis for the formulation of a modern theory of responsibility. In this thesis, social responsibility is divided into three distinct categories; the ontological, axiological and praxiological. The author explores a model of responsibility relevant to the peculiarities of modern society, and attempts to determine the essential characteristics of this model. Particular attention is paid to the practical realization of the model within the context of the modern world. It analyses the problem of social irresponsibility in terms of diminishing niduses of responsibility. In this thesis the accent is on responsibility as an element of modern society in particular, with its transient nature and continually evolving technologies.
