Beznosyuk О. Activity of destructive battalions and groups of guarding of public order on Precarpathian region in 1944–1954 years.

The thesis deals with the peculiarities of creation and the forms and methods of activity of the voluntarily public militarized forming of self-defence – destructive battalions and groups of public law enforcement – on Precarpathian region in 1944 - 1954 years. The features of their creation are explored, their structural construction, staff providing and high-quality composition are analyzed, the forms and methods of their activity on guarding of public order in settlements, their role in liquidations of the armed resistance of OUN and UPA and co-operating with local authorities of soviet-parties and power structures are explored, the system of the combat and political training and socially-financial providing, the reasons of violation of legality and official discipline by personnel are revealed. The role of organs of militia and state security in creation and guidance these formings in settlements is analyzed; their contribution in the fight against criminal elements, violators of public peace and their role in liquidation of independent motion of resistance are marked.
