Theoretical and social and ecological approaches to study regional display of interaction of society and nature are systematized and are profound. Social and geographical essence of concept "social and ecological system", "social and ecological district" is proved. System of criteria, principles and parameters of social and ecological division into districts is developed. The factors of social and ecological formation of regions main among which are demographical, managing and level of man-caused loading are complexly appraised. Typification of administrative districts of Poltava region by the level of man-caused loading - regions with low level of man-caused loading, with lower then average level of man-caused loading, higher then average level of man-caused loading, high level of man-caused loading is carried out. Methodic of social and ecological division into districts of region, on the basis of which social and ecological division into districts of Poltava region is carried out, is created andused.
