Novykova V. Territorial Organization of Recreational Activity in the Context of Sustainable Development of the Region (Studying by example of Cherkasy region)

Territorial organization of recreational activity is examined as an important part of providing sustainable development of a region. The model of territorial recreational system was updated. The typification of territorial recreational systems was developed. The classifications of recreational resources, recreational service, and recreational infrastructure were proposed. The model of structure of territory recreational potential was designed. The classification of holidaymakers was implemented. The main kinds of recreational activities for different groups of people according to their age, sex, marital status, wellbeing, educational level, domicile, and level of health were revealed. The methodology of socio-geographic research of recreational activity of a region was improved. The typification of Ukrainian regions according to the level of recreation development was created. The recreational potential of Cherkasy oblast was assessed. The description of the population of Cherkasy oblast in the contextof the recreational demands is provided. Point elements of the territorial structure of the region that is under consideration were defined. The comparative analysis of the level of recreation development in the administrative rayons of Cherkasy oblast was implemented. The ways for the improvement of recreational industry on the regional level were proposed. The actions concerning the activation of recreational activity in Cherkasy oblast were outlined.
