Essay

The dissertation deals with the complex study of the social and political activity of Ukrainian women during 1917. On the basis of sources and literature studies the transformation of women's social status through the demographic analysis was observed. The thesis shows the level of women's incorporation to the elementary, secondary and higher education. Women's right to enter universities on equal rights with men was a grate achievement. The research reveals basic spheres of professional activities of women of different social levels. Women's labour was used in agriculture, industry, transports, education, low, medicine, civil service. In the dissertation influence of social transformation on emotional and psychological women's state are observed. Special features of everyday women's life during the period of revolutionary changes are covered. In the work the role of women's organizations, state and national, of different aims: political, education, noble in the social and political events of the definite period is discovered. The author of the research has analyzed the women's participation in the election campaigns to the state and local government bodies. The women's role in the Ukrainian national liberation movement during 1917, their contribution to the process of national state building, development of national education and culture was fond out.
