Firsov O. Military and political activity of P.Sahaidachnyi and B.Khmelnytskyi: comparative analysis.

The thesis is concerned with the military and political activities of P.Sahaidachnyi and B.Khmelnytskyi in the context of the creation and development of the Ukrainian Cossacks' army forming to a protection of Ukrainian lands and their release from the foreigner rule. Special attention was focused on the comparison of the military and political activities of the Ukrainian hetmans: P.Sahaidachnyi and B.Khmelnytskyi. It was determined that thanks to the energies of the hetmans P.Sahaidachnyi and B.Khmelnytskyi qualitatively new army was created in Ukraine at that very moment. That army differed from other armies of that time by its foundations of organization, teaching, integration, training of warriors. Own Cossack's military art school was founded. Disclosed the Hetmans role in the formation and use of the Ukrainian Cossacks' army forming in the designated period. The socio-economic situation of Cossacks in the first half of XVII century was considered. Hetmans views on ways to achieve an independent state status of Ukrainian lands were clarified. Military and political conceptions of P.Sahaidachnyi and B.Khmelnytskyi were widely covered. Their distinctions from military and political conceptions of foreign countries of that time were determined.
