This paper deals with the problem of the research of social intelligence as a factor of successfulness pedagogical activity. The phenomenon of intelligence at the present stage of psychological sciences development is examined in this research paper. The principal characteristics of the main points of social intelligence and present day views of domestic and foreign psychology are revealed. It was given the main approaches to the research of social intelligence. The main characteristics of pedagogical activity were examined. It was described and studied the main approaches to the assessment of its successfulness. The criteria of pedagogical activity successfulness were highlighted and, from their point of view, the teachers' social intelligence was examined. It was studied the empirical research and then it was given the analysis of connection between development level of social intelligence and successfulness pedagogical activity. It was built the model of social intelligence, using the functions, important for the process and results of pedagogical activity.
