Object - process of prospective teachers' professional training in a pedagogical higher educational institution; the purpose - to provide forming prospective teachers' readiness to make decisions in pedagogical activity; methods - the theoretical analysis, modeling, pedagogical experiment, diagnostics, questioning, discussion, observation, mathematical data processing; newness - model of forming prospective teachers' readiness to make decisions in pedagogical activity and periods of its realization are developed; pedagogical conditions of realization of the developed model are revealed; nature of concept "prospective teachers' readiness to make decisions" is specified and its maintenance is theoretically opened, also criterion base of monitoring investigated readiness; results - application conclusions and recommendations in educational process; development of the teaching and methodological complex on forming readiness to make decisions (the special course "Bases of decision-making", the handbook andinformation resources) for students of the pedagogical higher educational institutions; use of materials of the dissertation in the organization of the prospective teachers' practice, during lifelong education; area - theory and methodology of professional education.
