Struchenkov O. The engineering-technical intelligentsia of Donbass (the end of the 1920s – 1930s): the forming, life conditions, activities.

The dissertation deals with analysis of forming, life conditions and activities of the engineering-technical intelligentsia in Donbass at the end of the 1920s-1930s. The main forms and methods of the preparation of young specialists are covered, the quantative and qualitative composition of the technical intelligentsia in 1928-1940 is analyzed. At the base of study of the material state, the labour conditions and the conditions of life, the life level of the technical staff are defined. The main forms and kinds of production and social activities of specialists undergo are analyzed. The dissertation points out the reasons, the course and the after-effects of repressions aimed against the intelligentsia. All these points mentioned above are analyzed in the light of the exposing the regional specific character and forming new socio-psychological features which the technical intelligentsia were supposed to have.
