Syroid I. Social and political activity of Oles Honchar.

The thesis is a complex research of social views and political activity of O.Honchar, who was spiritual leader and active participant of Ukrainian national and cultural revival. The problem has been investigated in context of the most important social and political processes of the second half of a XX century. On the wide basis of sources, a considerable part of which has been used for the first time, the process of the formation of O.Honchar's world outlook has been investigated. His activity as the deputy of Supreme Soviet of USSR, the member of Central Committee, the Head of Union of Ukrainian writers has been investigated. The main aspects of O.Honchar's social and political activity, his contribution into the process of construction of the independent Ukrainian State have been analyzed in the thesis.
