Essay

The dissertationis is dedicated to solving the problem of defining the quantitative anatomical and biomechanical parameters of the human ureter which are required to improve the procedure of balloon ureter dilatation and to create a model of a device which could imitate this procedure in vitro. Morphometry of intact and dilatated ureter segments has been done; relative deformation, volume elasticity and tangencial stress of the ureter wall has been defined based on the data acquired via morphometry. The results of the analysis has been used for mathematical modelling and computer programming of the balloon ureter dilatation procedure.
