Essay

. The retrospective analysis of research of a cate-gory of quality of life is carried out. The parity of a category of quality of life with adjacent categories is shown: conditions of life, standard of living, image of life, way of life. The concept as object of public geography is considered. The principles of research of quality of life are considered in space at different hierarchical levels. The estimation of quality of life of the Odessa region is carried out typical of admin-istrative areas on specificity of quality of life. By re-sults of typical are selected 4 such as areas: І a type "to lag behind", ІІ the type "is poorly ad-vanced", ІІІ the type "average is advanced", ІV the type "is advanced".
