Essay

This dissertation deals with linguacultural analysis of concept tolerance, objectifying the knowledge of a certain phenomenon on a language level. This research is performed from the discursive perspective that shows communicative and functional characteristics of the key word tolerance that in turn allows to describe its semantic structure and to show cognitive interpretation of the findings. The work gives the definition of discourse as speech carrying information, opinion and position of a speaker towards an object or communicative situation. This work reveals the role of the basic concept tolerance in structuring of a conceptual field and establishing the hierarchy of its components.
