Moiseieva T. Ukrainian press in Australia (1949-2007) as a factor of conservation of national and cultural wealth

In this thesis for the first time in the Ukrainian science of journalism the comprehensive analysis of the Ukrainian periodicals was made, which were published in Australia during 1949-2007. It is unique phenomenon in social, political, cultural and spiritual aspects. 119 periodicals of our compatriots on the fifth continent are first entered in a scientific appeal, prevailing part of which has been inaccessible to the circle of researchers (69 periodicals was studied by a competitor personally, and 10 to the today's moment in general mentioned nowhere). It was examined their forming process and conditions of the functioning; the meaning content peculiarities of the periodical was scrutinized. Facilities of defending of national and cultural wealth are found out by means of the press.
