Krapivnyk G. Biblical intertext in the works by L.N.Andreev and M.A. Bulgakov.

The object is the works by L.N.Andreev and M.A.Bulgakov; the aim is to single out and consider dominant biblical motives and images-symbols as representatives of biblical intertext in the works by L.N.Andreev and M.A.Bulgakov, to establish their aesthetic and constructive, their meaning-forming role in these works; methods – descriptive stylistic, structural stylistic, continuous selection, comparative, elements of quantitative text analysis, interpretative; the novelty – the work contains an attempt to clarify the range of terms used therein, namely the terms of «intertextuality», «quotation», «allusion», «motive» and «image-symbol»; the results are in the establishment and description of the ways to represent precedential phenomena (biblical motives and images-symbols) in the gospel cycle by L.N. Andreev and in novels by М.А. Bulgakov «White Guard» and «Master and Margarita»; setting the markers on intext components in the above works, determination of their essential functions, their aesthetic andconstrictive role in the new text environment. The comparative analysis of the use of the biblical intertext in the works by L.N.Andreev and M.A.Bulgakov enabled not only to point out the main features of their artistic and discourse style, but also to precise the structural description of a key category of a literary text – the author’s image; the field is stylistics, lingvoculturology, text linguistics.
