The thesis gives a comprehensive analysis of the process of formation and structural changes of soviet punitive repressive system in Volhyn region in 1944-1953. The tasks, functions and activity trends of military and policing branch are investigated. The forms and methods of their struggle against the Ukrainian national liberation movement are defined. The communist regime actions against the civilian population are highlighted. The antichurch totalitarianism policy is analyzed.
