Essay

Dissertation is dedicated to costume art research in Ukraine of the end of XX - beginning of XXI centuries - the most dynamic and difficult period in Ukrainian fashion from historical as well as sociocultural and art critical point of view. Costume is analysed as synthetic phenomenon of postmodernism culture in the system of arts and crafts, the main tendencies of its evelopment are defined, art costume values are shown in designer works, interconnection between the Ukrainian and world-wide fashion, prospects of Ukrainian fashion progress are forecasted.
