Essay

This thesis is a research of the aspects of social and political movement of peasants of Left-bank Ukraine during the First Russian Revolution (1905 - 1907). Main trends and forms of agrarian movements, considered by the writer of the thesis as either peaceful or forced, are described on the different sources and literature research basis. Special attention is drawn to such regional peculiarities of the agrarian movement as: so called "peasant republics", localization of the armed actions, "Prigovornoe movements" (movements of charters), counter-revolutionary peasants' actions, Jewish disorders. The role of political organizations in the development of agrarian movement is depicted. Their programs were effectively implemented and had the influence on peasant circles. The activity of the "All-Russian peasant union", which became a dominating force of the agrarian movement at the end of 1905 is separately described by the writer of the thesis.
