Tymchyshyn O. The establishment and development of West Ukrainian youth press 1900-1939

Dissertation is a complex research of West Ukrainian youth press 1900-1939 as the part of modern Ukrainian journalism. Social-historic context of that time is represented and on this background the journalistic works are analysed, in which individual style of the author, features of literary language and genre specific are set. The system of West Ukrainian youth press is determined, the specific historical and social-political conditions of youth press forming are analysed, informative and propagandist possibilities of youth press are studied, typological and problem-thematic features, predefined by the establishment and development of this part of periodic press are found out, the thematic blocks of West Ukrainian youth press on the background of the time (1900-1939) are found out and analysed, their content is analysed as well; basic ideological thematic trends and their importance for national life of Ukrainian society of this period are defined. It is proved that the fundamental ideas of the state system, collegiality appeared and were cultivated exactly in youth motion and its press, which had a determining influence on life of Ukrainian society, on its political opinion, and on forming of its public opinion.
