Essay

The thesis is the first Ukrainian complex research into satirical discourse of social and political journalism in Dnieper Ukraine in 1905 - 1920. Development of Ukrainian satirical press is analysed in the work. Devices and stylistic methods of satirical discourse creation in national patriotic press are examined. Folklore is proved to be the main source of satire. Development of satirical genre school is established; and forms of ridiculousness creation by publicists are shown as well as use of stylistic means. Main topics and tendencies of the satiric journalism of 1917-1920 are emphasized in detail.
