The dissertation is dedicated to the analysis of the leading transformational tendencies of religious consciousness in the modern Ukrainian society, which lie in syncretization, desacralization, moralization, undermining of religiousness, a combination of confessional and its nonconfessional forms, adaptation of religious traditional forms to the present-day conditions (modernization of religion), subjectivization, identification of confessional, national and cultural identity, ritual beliefs and externals of religion. There detected specific features of influence of principal historical, cultural and modern sociocultural factors on the transformational processes of religious consciousness in Ukraine. In this work a conceptual and categorial apparatus is specified and methodological principles of the study are represented, the peculiarities of the actual state of religious consciousness in the modern Ukrainian society are considered.
