The thesis deals with researching the development of the customs system in the Pravoberezhya region of Ukraine during the period of formation of the world market economy during the 1860s - 1914. The content of the thesis discloses the problems of interdependency between the processes of adopting protectionist customs policies and influence of the customs on the economy of the region. An attempt is made to disclose the importance of the customs offices' activities in filling of the treasury.
