Essay

The thesis deals with a study of the specific characteristics of the morphologic structure of the esophagogastric junction at an early stage of human ontogenesis. The research has been carried out on 61 specimens of fetuses (15 isolated organocomplexes of the organs of the abdominal cavity and 46 fetal corpses) and 15 corpses of newborns without pathology of the digestive organs. The individual anatomic variability and chronologic sequence of spatio – temporal transformations of the components of the esophagogastric segment during the fetal and early postnatal periods of human ontogenesis have been studied by means of modern methods of morphologic research. On an ultasound examination the external and internal diameters of the abdominal part of the esophagus in newborns and infants are lerger in boys, but the external diameter of the abdominal part of the esophagus increases statistically significantly ony in girls.
