Rekrut V. Dmytro Markovych in co-operative, public and political life of Ukraine (second half of XIX – beginning of XX century).

The above dissertation is based on analysis of the archive documents, memoirs, materials of periodical magazines, creative inheritance and national historiography in the context of the Ukrainian national revival to explore the course of life and co-operative, public and political activity of famous Ukrainian figure D.V. Markovych (1848-1920). This academic work highlights main stages of his life, participation in the development of co-operative movement in Volyn’ and struggle against the attempt of church functionaries to subordinate Co-operation under chauvinistic “Souz Rus’kogo Narodu’. This research also highlights co-operative, public and state activity of D. Markovych in Podol during Ukrainian Revolution (1917-1920). In the study is specified his place in modern Ukrainian historical science and justificated full rehabilitation of D. Markovych for future generations.
