Essay

Object - students' educational communicative and discourse activity at non-linguistic higher educational institutions. Aim - to provide a theoretical grounding for the Systemic approach in pedagogy and on its basis to work out and experimentally test a linguo-didactic model "Learning Curve" for the communicative competence development. Theoretical results and novelty - for the first time the phenomenon "educational system" has been defined on the basis of principals and regularities of the Systemic approach contextual paradigm; the notion of the informational base comprising a database and knowledgebase has been introduced. For the first time a functional model of the intellectual management of a higher educational institution has been worked out based on the context - dependant languages. A universal model of a functionally-oriented competence has been developed, which can be adapted to any field of competence-based education or professional training. Practical results and research novelty - a methodology of the English language teaching and a Competence-Oriented Modular Program for Autonomous Students (COMPAS) have been designed for the study program "International communications in business and management". The program aims at developing students' communicative competence in compliance with the international standards. It accomplishes with certification of students' achievements in language acquisition - TOEIC test. The subject and introduction degree - a program of communicative language competence development has been worked out within the framework of the TOEIC test in cooperation with the embassy of the USA in Riga. Efficiency of introduction - is high. Field - pedagogical, higher educational institutions, pedagogical or professional-training colleges.
