Kovalenko O. Poltava of 17 - 18 centuries: development of city territory, spatial structure and city building.

Comprehensive research of development of city territory, spatial structure and city building of Poltava in 17 - 18 centuries was made first. The action of main city building factors such as microgeographical and topographical terms, administrative, social and economical factors are considered. Six stages of drafting of Poltava city space are detailed. Five periods of territorial and demographic growth are selected. Main phases of Poltava fortification development and its main constituent are found out. Drafting of suburb and "near" and "distant" outskirts is analyzed. Features of suburb planning are determined. Composition hierarchicalness of the city and regularities of streets tracing are set. Re-planning of Poltava at the beginning of 19 century is examined. Localization of the most important buildings is conducted. Their functioning is considered.
