Essay

Object of research - infectious exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The aim of investigation - to study the role of viral and bacterial agents in occurrence of exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and to optimize diagnostic and therapeutic measures for patients with this pathology. The methods of research - clinical, microbiological, virologic, functional, clinicolaboratoral, biochemical, immunological, radiological, statistical. Results - bacterial and viral agents of infectious exacerbation of COPD are identified. The most advisable methods of virologic investigation, and, first of all, simple/quick tests based on immunochromatographic assay, for the diagnosis of etiology of this pathology are estimated. It is determined that arbidol or spirulina involved in the complex therapy of patients with the infectious exacerbation of COPD significantly intensify eradication of exacerbation. The highest advisability of arbidol application at presence of viral etiology of exacerbation of disease or its high probability, and spirulina at substantial patient's immune status disorder is demonstrated. Area of application - pulmonology, therapy.
